Hey,
I want to install a muffler, just a muffler, no full cat or anything. I wanted to know what kind of mufflers will work for the 325es,and how much they go for. Thnx
Magnaflow is the best i think you can go for a muffler. and they run about 130$ a muffler, then the tips cost a bit more, but still real good.
my friend got one, and its nice.

flow master is good too, i get them for 90 bucks i duno what the list price is tho? they work great and you can choose the tone you want, deep and throaty or high and nasty, or anywhere in between. and you cna go to a near by metal shop and buy some stainless pipe and clamp it on the ned and you have a nice stainless tip which will run you about 5$

I've been wanting an exhaust too, I'm considering this muffler called Spintech, mainly used on american muscle but they sound really mean on an e30. Click
i am also interested in a new muffler. i have an 87 325. Is there any customizing that needs to be done for these spintech mufflers or is it a straight bolt on. if i have to customise what types on things need to be done?

Buy a muffler of your choice, bring it to a muffler shop, have them bend pipes and weld on to your muffler, that's it, you can pm the guy who started the thread to help you out.
Or you can do like I did with my '86 325E and pay some cheap mechanic $200 to cut off your cat and install 2 1/2 in. pipes all the way back to a muffler... great way to get power out of the eta engine.

I was looking for an exhaust system too and happened to swing by the local Meineke to ask about it. They told me they could fab one for about $250-$300. That's a 2.5" cat-back with a flowmaster muffler.

this is the 3" system i just made for mine. it uses a 5x11x22 magnaflow offset/offset. it is just a tad bit too big for the stock muffler hangers, but you can modify them to fit. for any magnaflow product, just go to their site and search through their online retailers. they sell them for usually the same very low price, mine was like 117, and shipping is usually free. i don't have any installed pics yet, but with the offset/offset it lines up perfectly.
and an ending statement to this thread.
NEVER GO TO MIDAS MUFFLERS
i hate that place they're a rip off and they dont know shit about what they're doing
take that from a verry un satisfied customer. anywho thats all i gota say
good luck to you guys and finding a good pitch to for your ears
