OK I was thinking about turbocharging my 325is when it was fixed but the quy at the bmw shop by my house said that my motor puts off alot of emissions and the impeller(spell check) inside the turbo whould get all gumed up. He said alot of his friends have v8's in there shit and are very happy with them So my question is what do you guys think of a Twin turbo 5.0 motor in a E30 BMW? Good idea or would I be a traitor

5.0l from a mustang? i dont think its worth it because of the weight and it would look pretty ghetto in the e30 body and it would be a tuff fit

there's no reason why you can't turbo a e30 M20 engine, people have done it before, but its good to know what your doing before you start a project like that. if you just want gobs of power, then a BMW S38 engine from the old M5's/M6's would easily beat a 5.0 ford engine.
E36 M3 engine conversion. seen it and heard it, sounds and IS awesome...

How much do you think a s38 motor would be? what else would i need to make the swap. The only reason I was thinking about the 5.0 motor my friend clay has a 86 ford mustang with that same motor in it and he was going to sell the car to me for cheap. His car made 531hp and 597lb ft of tq at 15psi

you really can't bore a m20 out that far, unless you have a alpina block or something different than the one from the factory. its all about changing the stroke.
i can imagine the s38 will be pretty expensive, and probably not feasible on a quest for cheap power

yea but thats a stroker overbore to 3.0. Not just a overbore.
And when he said the engine has to much emmissions, im pretty sure he meant his perticular engine... not all m20s. And 5.0L arnt that heavy to begine with. Not for their power, and they are very small engines. The m20 is incredibly heavy. If youve ever seen one pulled, the block is HUGE. The only reason it looks so small in the car is because its a slant 6, not a vertical 6.
