Motor Questions Froma Newbie

I've just hit the track with my car (http://members.shaw.ca/driverwanted/) and have a 1.8L engine now. This winter I'd like to build a 2L engine (rules for my class limit me to 2300 CCs). As I'm a new BMW owner, I thought I'd drop you a line to ask your opinion. The rules for my class are here http://www.kentraceways.com/minirules.htm

The weight limit is 1lb per cc and I weigh in now at 2200 lbs; hence my desire to get up to as many cc's as the rules will allow.

Wow. It's obvious that your budget is very much in line with an awesome setup.
If you can afford it, AND can source the parts, this is what I would put in it.

I don't know if it's within your rules or not, but as you can see, you have a few options, and either way you go, it will be a freakin' screamer!
