Main light switch

In my HAYNES BMW manual, I can't locate the main light switch in the wiring diagram.I can find something called "main light bulb tester" but what is that? Also, what is the "check control" in the diagram.
I'll have another look at what my son could have done when he installed the new radio. Have already looked a few times.

Active check control is your bulb failure indicator above your rear view mirror, Your main light switch is listed as headlight switch or light switch and the circuit for them are found on pages 32, 33, 37, 38, and 39.

As far as the radio goes, does it turn off when you turn the key off?

Thanks for your quick reply. The radio works fine.
The book I'm using is HAYNES 1948, BMW 3 and 5 series.It has no page numbers, rather chapter numbers, and numbers for each page in each chapter.
Can't locate main or head light switch either. Weird diagram.
