Main Bearing Q & A session

Hey, I have access to some tools and some spare time, so I'm wondering how do we get to our crankcase main bearing? I need to consider replacing it. Also, where can I find a new main bearing set? I'm considering cost factors and whatnot. I mean I've already got a L6 engine lined up. But anyhow, I dunno. :-/
I guess I'm sort of comitted to the idea of the L6 in my 318, but either way... haha. oh well.

Buy a service manual... it tells you step by step how to get to it and work on it... If one of the mods wants me to... I could type the whole thing up...... or if your really in need of it... I will.. just ask.
