M44 swap into e30 - BMW Forum

hey guys, im doing my first engine swap in a couple days, any advice would be really appreciated. I'm swapping a m44 motor into a e30 chassis/body. I was told that I could use the m44 block combined with the m42 engine externals (underive pully, alternator etc.). Anyone have any experience doing this? Also what parts should I have in order to do this swap, I figure some things should be fixed due to regular maintainance, so is there anything that I should change while I have the engine and drivetrain out? I'm thinking I should definantly put in a new clutch and pressure plate

Why don't you put an m50 into it instead?

im not doing a m50 cause I dont have an m50 I have a running m44 and a seized m42. Im gonna pull the m42 and see if i can rebuild it to have a tun of hp and after cleaning and resealing the m44 will become my dailey driver
