320i's didnt even start production until 1977.
The 77-79 models came with the 2.0 4cyl. The 80-83 had the 1.8l 4cyl. Apparently they decided not to change the name for marketing reasons. Theyve done the same thing with new models too for the same reason.
Europe also saw the 323i with the 2.3l 6cyl as well as the 320i 6cyl with a 2.0l six.
A 323i probably wouldn't be the best idea for the average person. They were a grey market car in the states so parts availability over here definitely isn't the best. |
