So I know I am probably asking for it when I ask for info.
I traded a bed (I own a bed store) for a friends, mom's 325e. The idea is to turn it into the racers I grew up watching. So I need to know where to go to get the best performance parts and information. I will do a lot of the work myself.
My wife is cool with me doing track days but is starting to get stressed about me hanging of my bikes at the track with just leather and carbon fiber to protect me. Even though Millers track is super safe (maybe I can get her to drive and then I can really get into it?). We have an 750WHP 1972 442 W30 as well but drag racing is not really giving me my fix. So I just need to build a good driving car to transition to four wheels.
So go ahead and throw some ideas at me. I don't even know what classes this car could be able to race in. I am kinda doing this backwords. Usually I have all the info and then build to suit.
I would like to keep away from giant brakes and turbo kits. I am looking for cams, suspension, shifter, driveline, limited slip diff, brakelines, rotors, pads, ignition, exhaust system (everything from header to muffler), pre built cage, racing seats and anything else I will need.
the eta is the PERFECT e30 base for this (except maybe a 318is).
I've got some infos about it, I'll look them up for you.
The exhaust brings an unusual amount of hp (since the stock exhaust is restrictive), increasing the fuel compression up to 10:1, special head with worked valves (such as from AC Schnitzer, Alpina or Hartge), new intake and exhaust manifold, a sharp camshaft and performance exhaust system should get you up to a good 230 hp without chipping. You can of course get more hp but what I said is for a daily-driver tuned car
have fun!
