hey bmrheads, first post. a while ago i saw a post regarding what to expect on e30s and someone said a short or ground problem with lights will probably come up. ive got a lot of down time to address things while waiting to be able to plate ( legally) my 86 325es. just looking to eliminate as many potential problems as i can. other ideas welcome.
i heard something about that too.... something about how when you turn the brights on all four of the circular headlights come on. thats what happens in my car, i always thought it was suppoed to be that way.

Before '88, E30's have normal headlights in a quad set. outer lights should be a dipped/low beam And high/main beam combo. Inner lights should be high/main beam only. All 4 should only be on in high/main beam setting
Your lights are working fine, the fogs cut off by relay as they become redundant on high/main beam. 89 should have ellipsoids, unless replaced after a crash
