Light Replacement

The light on my automatic shifter has burnt out.
How do I rplace it? I was afraid to try and pry off the shifter cover. Do I have to take the center console apart or does the shifter cover snap off?

I just replaced mine two weeks ago, all you have to do is pop out the plastic cover and then put in on Nuetral (apply your hand brake first). The bulb is located in the black socket but it has little locks on you need to release it comes down and viola' you can replace your bulb. Hope this helps should only take you about 10 minutes maximum.

Is there a trick to taking off the cover? I'm afraid I'll crack it! Did you use a screwdriver? Pry corners or middle?

Okay, I/m making progress! I popped the cover off and put in neutral, problem is that I don't see a bulb anywhere???

It's on the left side of the shifter, connected to it. It's like a little black tube with a hole in the top. Just reach under it and the bulb slides out.

I see an empty little hole at the base of the shifter on the right side, could that be it? Could it be that and there is just no bulb in it? Is the bulb long and skinny?
There is a liitle black clip on the left side directly under the prnd321 colum but no lite assembly.
