Hello i have a 1987 325i, that is leaking power steering like a stuffed pig, i have located the leak to the middle of the rack, there is a black plug in the back of unit that has a hose going to it, the hose is no bigger then a pencil, and every time steering wheel is turned it just pukes out fluid from where this little line is plugged into back of rack and pinion, please help if you know what this is or what its called. Gary
Thanks for the replys everyone that chimed in, i am really new to bimmers so know nothing about them, i bought the car for my son thinking we can work on it for the next two years tell he gets his license, i drive a 94 mustang cobra thats been built a little with nitrous running about 425 to the tires so that is my fun for being over the hill, but i got to tell you i am having more fun driving this little 325i and thinking this is to much of a car for my kid so i might have to keep it myselp and get him a chevy sprint or something, kinda wished i had a chance to drive a bmw years ago, i know there is faster and better bmw's out there but this little car is fun as hell, anyways back to the original thread, i put a little silcone around that return line plug that goes in the back of the rack and pinion and it has stopped the leak for now, if there is a better rack that would bolt right into this car please let me know cause i have a bmw wrecking yard right down the road from me, i have been looking at reman, and new ones but still not decided. Thanks again to all of you who chimed in. Gary
