K&N Intake & Filter (325E) - BMW Forum

Question for those of you with the 325e. I'm looking for the intake and K&N filter for our engine. I've seen it installed on a lot of 325i cars, and thought it was the same, but a lot of parts places do not have a listing for it. They have the filter that replaces the stock filter, but do not have the cone filter/assembly for attaching it to the air intake. Furthermore, they say the 325i piece doesn't exist either, and if it did, it wouldn't be compatible.

I've seen lots of E30s with it installed on the end of the MAF box. So what gives?

Any speed shop and even PEP Boys sell K&N filters, the trick is to get one that will slide over the pipe (they come in various sizes both for the cone and sleeve). Hint, get that filter out of the engine compartment and away from engine heat, there are heat shileds, but still there is a lot of heat trapped in the engine compartment and heat is the killer of horsepower.
