Just wondering!

Is there any advantage to using an "I" intake manifold on an eta engine?

Just wondering!

I believe it is less restrictive, but don't quote me on that.

eta has much smaller "pipes" to improve the torque. i has bigger pipes to allow more air to flow in higher revs.

Use i intake when you plan to make other changes. Please note, that also eta and i cylinderheads differ somewhat. You can't use i camshaft in eta head etc..

Does anybody know off hand if an I intake manifold will fit on an eta head? I know a few things are different.

When it comes to the eta engine, many many things are different. Later "Super Etas" use the i camshaft, and probably the i cylinder head, but retain the eta manifold. Net gain was small, only 2hp or so, but that may be due to the drastic 2000rpm difference in max engine speeds. The reason the i camshaft doesn't fit is because the eta camshaft uses only 4 bearings whereas the i camshaft has 7.

The i manifold should fit just fine. The cylinder heads are very similar.
