I just put in a used engine from a 525 into a 325es. I had trouble with the wires on the front passenger side fire wall in the engine compartment. Because I just cut all of them off when I took the old engine out. Well I already put the engine in and I'm now haveing trouble finding out where the ground is supposed to go. Where do I need to attach it? How thick is the wire supposed to be? And does that wire harness have anything to do with starting the car? (coming out the fire wall on passenger side) THANKS>>>>
I'm pretty sure the wiring harness on the right is only for feul/air ratio-ing (make sense?). And i'm pretty sure you need it to keep the engine running properly...but why would you try with out it?
jw, do you have the right computer for it?
But, why would you put a 525 engine in a 325es? why not just get a 535i...
I'm assuming you put in a 2.5L i engine if youre in the US (cause the didnt have 525e here, it was 528e)...i would love to have 182hp and then chip it and and and and....omg, that sounds fun!

My mom has one and I want to steal themotor from her when shes not looking, LOL.
I think theres alot of guides out there for that on the net.
I just went through Frank Fahey motorsports customers E30 325ci to M3 euro cabrio conversion at his shop. Theres a good article in BMWCCA mag roundel about it. You could call him and ask. I thik He used an S50 from a 95 M3 or something instead of M52 I think cuz its ODB I instead of ODB II and wiring harnes was easier to tap into.
I think hehasan M52 in his M3.
Check out his web site.
