Jack/Ramps

so i'm gettin' into working on my car. sears has a hydraulic jack for 69.99 (3 ton). my buddy said i should get that plus two individual ramps. any suggestions?

get jackstands instead of the ramps. i have ramps i'v used them once or twice as wheel chalks. and once on the suberban and once on my old chevelle. i'v had them for like 5 years.... jackstands will be much more useful

Both. Find the ramps at a yard sale.
If your car is at all lowered, you'll have to run the car up on something in order to avoid scraping on the ramp, though. I usually have to line up some bricks..
