87E30is is an unknown quantity at this point
My temperature gauge has been acting funny lately. It seems to bounce back and forth when I get between 3000-3500 RPM, and becomes worse if I accelerate harder. What could be the problem with this? My check engine light is on and the car is a little rough idling too.

I replaced the coolant temperature sensor yesterday.

Any help is appreciated.

It might be a dry joint between the gauge and the board it sits on itís held on by a nut which come loose and the gauge moves on the board and wears the solder away. Take out the cluster un-bolt the clock then build up the ring of solder than it sits on
