I want to remove my intake manifold on my E30 to get it Powder coated black, and was wondering if anyone has removed one before and if its a pain in the ass or not. I have looked through my haynes manual=piece of poo, it doesnt help me at all!!! So any input would be fantastic.

WAIT!!! i thought for some reason you had a 318. the 325 is a bit trickier....
you have to take off a bunch of the stuff under the manifold so you can get to the bolts and their is i think a spring that has to be undone too....i forget why.....
it is kind of a pain in the arse....but work it slow, dont rush, and you will be alright.
a small mirror will help you see under there even better.
Yea i knew it couldnt be that easy, but whatever, it will give me somethin to do. Also i talked to a guy about porting and polishing my intake manifold. He said its not worth the money, so dont even bother. So I am goin to just get the intake manifold and valve cover powder coated black. I will post pics when its all done.

porting and polishing IS worth the $$$, if you go buy the tools for it. they attach to a drill and you can do it yourself. just make sure you clean it very well after you do it or you will clog up your injectors with dust.
i learned how to do it from a girl....her dad races modifieds and shes the one who got me into bimmers from trucks. its not hard at all. then you can charge all your friends to do it to their cars......
why pay someone when you can do it for free. charge your first friend the cost of the tools and its like you got free tools.......
