I bought a tool from bav auto that resets the light...here's a more ghetto and much cheaper way....

Here's that trick...it took me forever to find this page. I haven't dared to test this method out...and I probably won't try it. I get scared of shorting things out and blowing something. If any one tries the method explained in the link below you do it AT YOUR OWN RISK.

here's the link:

It's a timer to tell you how many miles it's been since the light was reset last....I forget how many miles it takes to set it off....15,000 sounds kinda familiar but I'm not sure...

Your supposed to give it a good ole tune up and inspection when it says "inspection" and an oil change when it says "oil service"....

it in no way means something is wrong...just make sure you do give it the proper service it needs...the timer was put there for a reason, don't reset the light and leave it at that....give her a tune up and inpection.

it works, just make sure you service the car and adjust the valves when it comes on though, or else it defeats the entire purpose of it...

Well I took the car to get a tune up and an oil change, It was much needed. I've only owned the car for like 5 months now.

I'm going to take it back to the mechanic and see if he will reset the Inspection light.

Did they adjust the valves, replace the air filter, fuel filter, drain and fill the diff, replace the spark plugs and drain and fill the trans? If not a full inspection service has not been done.

That list of stuff along with a few other items are only needed for an Inspection II, but at every inspection service the valve get adjusted.
