Inline fuel filter 325e???????????

i noticed today that there is an inline fuel filter installed in the bimmer i recently got. i changed the external filter in back and there is no mention of an inline filter in my local autoshop computer... anyone else seen these???? should i get rid of it?

I'm not seeing anything about an inline fuel filter in my Bentley manual either. So that's another source not saying anything about it. Idk about getting rid of it though.

inline filter E30... you'll find it under the car, more or less in the area of the driver's side pillar. you'll need to remove the plastic panel to expose it.

and yes, that needs to be replaced regularly ;-)

no this inline filter is spliced into the line that goes to the intake manifold. it's a little plastic bugger, right by the butterfly..... 1987 325e... i want to replace it but i don't know what kind of filter to put in it, theres a shelf full of intake filters at my local autoshop
