How do you remove the lock cylinder on a '89 325? Bentley says insert key, turn key 60 degrees, insert pin in hole and pull lock out, well, there is no hole. Is the rectangular shoulder that is on top of the cylinder the depressable item that needs to be pushed down as lock is pulled out?
all i remember from trying to fiddle with it is i had to take the upper steering wheel cover off, and just pry it off

DON'T PRY ANYTHING! Pry on it and you have a very good chance of busting the aluminum houseing. Look at your lock face, there is a black ring then a silver center where the key goes, if where the center and the outer ring meets has no hole in it (its small less than half the size of coat hanger wire). Then pull off the plastic lower houseing and you'll see a hole just under the lock mech push a toothpick or a cut coat hanger in and slide out the key cyl.
