I need a new top - BMW Forum

Does anyone know where I should look for a new top? I would like to get something inexpensive but I need it to stay together for a year before I upgrade.

If you have suggestions let me know.

Sorry, I have an '88 325i CV. I've checked around and found a few places. If anyone knows brands NOT to buy it would be helpful. Money's pretty tight right now and I don't need to learn through trial and error right now.

it's going to be $1000 out the door, parts and labor. Call Bavarian AutoSport for the top, probably around 600 and 400 to install it. I have an 88 325iC and had it done in 2000. And now I, too, need a new top. Not because of the top but because of the freakin rear window. Kills me, the top is perfect but the stitching around the window must have perished in the dry New Mexico weather. I'm am not sure what do about this....I sure as hell am not going put a new top on it that's for sure. Convertables suck, I never wanted this damn thing but the girl did so there you have it. In any event, the car runs like a champion otherwise but this convertable issue....I know what I am going to do but I swear, no more convertables.....ever.....

Thanks for the help. I've found a couple places online where I can buy the top. Is it possible to install it myself? I assumed putting a new top on wouldn't be a big deal but I'm comparing it to my experience with a Jeep. I suppose it's a whole different scenario. I'm beginning to agree about the convertible issue. I like having the top down in Florida but there are so many problems when the top needs to stay up.

why even bother with a convertible? Most bmw's come with a factory moonroof that works well. You get the fresh air, the smoke goes right out and your hair still looks cool.

That's a good point. Cool hair is important.
