I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to get the starter out of an 84 318i. I have been fighting with this da gone thing all afternoon, and i cant get it out!!! First I couldnt even get the main bolt out, then i finally got those, but now im being held back by the stupid bracket. Can i get that starter out without takingt he bracket off? becasue i cant even get the bracket off. The bolt is stuck and i only have so littel space to try to loosen teh bolt. Any tips would be great. Thanks. Chris---

well start enjoying small spaces cause the brackets there for a reason, unless you feel like cutting it out, but that only works if you dont care about the engine... get a ratch open end wrench and use the small space

Well, there is deffenitly a small amount of space, but i did it. After hours of trying and trying i finally got the bolt out that was holding the bracket down and it basically pulled right out. Chris---
