If I wanted to date you, I would have bought you dinner first.
in fact, convertibles are chick cars, especially German ones. Statistics bear out that 70% of newVW convertibles buyers are women. Nevertheless, my wife bought a 1988 BMW 325iC with 71K back in 1999 and it now has 175K on it, all by my hand for maintenance. It's been an outstanding car, cheap, fun and reliable. The relatively unknown fact is that the E30 325iC, as the 325iX, have a 6 inch longer wheel base than the the nons. This fact alone makes the iC and the iX more attractive than the snubby nons. It's almost like a 4 series...very different look, if you look hard enough.... Convertibles are a problem however, I just spent $550 to have a rear window replaced and I had to put a stress bar in the front years ago...otherwise.....other than noise and theft potential this car has been a monster..... we intend to keep it forever...
fixed my back windshield myself and i paid $150 for the plastic
no, in fact the entire price for a new canves top with installation is $1300 these days...I checked....it's $500 for labor and $800 for the top itself. In fact this was less than half of that as the top itself was/is in excellent condition, just the rear window.....dig?
