i just got the worst news ever.... so i had a rod knock, worst things ever, so i got a motor from this bmw yard for 600, got it put in for 700, 600 getting the computer fixed and helping it pass smog (failed first time...$80)...
then i find out, that the motor i put in....Has a rod knock...
i dont have enough money to keep dicking around with this thing so if anyone wants to buy it, run some offers by me
check out the pics in my profile thing.
Honestly I have no idea what the hell that mechanic did to the computer that would have cost 600, that cis injection system is stone simple.
And I can't see how it would cost 700 to install that motor, even if he is charging 70 an hour, it still doesn't take 10 hours to change that motor out.
AND unless you can hear the motor knock like a roofer hammering away from 2 blocks down the raod, just use 20w50 it should get you by untill you can afford to do something about it.
AND what kind of dumb ass calls a running motor worthless, unless your motor is locked up, and a piston laying on the ground it has potental.
I would hate to see some one loose their car like that, I would buy it, however I'm on the east coast.
