How to take fuel tank out of E30

I have a 87 325es and the pumps are fine but when I removed the external pump no fuel was dripping from the hose comeing from the tank or where ever it comes from. I think that it is being clogged up. How can I get that fixed ? and is it hard to remove the fuel tank? What all would need to come out?

You don't have to remove the tank, you have two fuel pumps. One internal one external, you can get to the internal fuel pump by removing the rear seat and taking off the access plate (4 screws) then unplug and take out the fuel sending unit (4 nuts) removing the two hoses, twist the assembly counter clock wise and remove. BUT, I strongly advise that you test for power first though....
