Hi -

Had someone back into my bumper while I was parked in the street in front of my apartment. They must have hit it pretty hard because the bumper is bent up bad. I was wondering how to remove it?

I saw this article on e30 network that seems pretty straightforward:

http://www.bmwe30.net/cgi-bin/datacgi/data...0120&Section=01

Specifically this section here:

To remove the front bumper, find the two holes in the bottom of the aluminium bumper. These holes are for access to the bolts holding the bumper to the shock. Using the 13mm torx stud, remove the bolts. You should now be able to remove the bumper from the shocks.

I can see the two holes, but no torx/hex bolts. The bumper shocks actually seem to be offset quite a bit from the holes in the bottom and look like they screw through the front of the bumper or through the trim.

My car is an '86 325es --- are the bumpers mounted differently in this model?

yes you have a different bumper. remove the bumper trim and undo the bolts (13mm i think) holding in the two bumper shocks (2 bolts for each shock).
