im looking at a 1990 325i forsale. its in good condition, it has 106,000 miles with one little spot of rust. the leather is good and everything works good except the cd player. ive talked the guy down to $2400. is that a deal or should i pass?
You talked him down to $2400... I would offer $2000 cash and print out a page off of KBB to show him, I did this once and worked for me with a Subaru Impreza. Remember most cars that age are in good condition not excellent condition...

thats quite a bit I only paid i think 700 for mine it has its miles which are unkown due the odometer stopping and kicking in once in a while, see if you can get him down to 1500 do the kbb thing with the paper
his asking price was $3200 and i told him about the kbb prices and he thought it said 3900 so i told him to check again and he told me the lowest he would go is 2400. i guess if he doesnt go lower than 2000 ill prolly pass on it then. thanks
It all depends what you think... I traded my old 96 Saab 900 SE Turbo for my 86 325e... I cut a loss in car value but I couldn't watch a classic get drove into the ground, the kid I got my car from was just driving the car to it's demise... I had to intervene! Depends how much you want the car for, if your doing it for the genuine respect and love you have for these cars, there is no price tag for that!
Good Luck

I bought an '87 325i last week in St. Louis. 81k mi but the odometer isn't working. Body is perfect, drives very tight and the interior is in great shape for a 20+ yr old car. Original owner with original title, I paid $1800 and I think I got a fair deal.
I would agree with the others he is asking for too much. If you can actually post some pictures of the car we would be happy to pick it over and let you know any issues we can spot that might help to talk him down.
