Runs like a hyiena on steroids....</span>
In Nov 2001 I paid $6500 for my E30. It only had 57k miles on it and was in great shape. no rust, all service records, etc. (Back than, E30's seemed to be worth a little more, but i dont care, my E30 is worth a million dollars to me)
Since than I have only had the timing belt changed twice, and periodic oil changes. all other things i did myself. so on top of the 6k, i spent around 2k on repairs and maint.
8,000 for my 91 318is, mint. serviced at the dealer the whole life. its an mtech car, its really low unfortunatly and they were doing lots of road work arround here, so i lost 3 oil pans which eventualy cause the engine to spin a bearing so thers roughly 1800, and then other then that probably another 2500 on upgradges and maintnence and sound system. i do all my own work so it keeps the prices down the stealer wanted 7 grand in labour for the engine swap i did it over 2 days in my garadge had it running the 2nd night ready for work in the morning

$3200 for the car and about $1000 in maintenance so far, because I didn't know what kind of stuff had been done already, so I did everything except brakes.
I do all my own work.

$1000 on the car, $1000 on Clutch and all related hydraulics (the hydraulics is the only reason I didn't do the work myself) $1000 on initial maintenance (Cap, Rotor, Coil, Wires, Plugs, Oil/Coolant/Gear/Diff flush and fill, O2 sensor, Brake Pads and Sensors, Hot Soak, Valve Adjust, etc...)
Then there is what I want/need to spend MORE money on! A good $2000 on new suspension (Springs, Shocks, Mounts, Camber Plates, Strut Bars, Sway Bars) granted the car doesn't NEED all of those things, but I DO! Overall, I can see spending well in excess of $10,000 making this car into the machine in my dreams. That is a value compared to the more than $17000 I spent on my VW Beetle (REAL BEETLE!!!) before being stolen and not covered by insurance, but that is a gripe for a different thread!

Ive spent, hmmm, 30 bucks for one of my e21's with a mtechnic lip and crate m10 with some head work done(dont know what alls been done, but its got a bent valve.) Who knows how much I have invested in parts laying around my house and parts that ive made(metal for fab work, body materials and paint materials.)
Paid 11k (canadian) for my 89 325ix. Owned by a BMW mechanic, garaged for years. Only 164,oookm at the time.. and in miles thats like 98,ooo. Extremily rare E30. Everyoption but electric seats. In near perfect condition, lots of extras.
Second month i had it the transmission blew right out. That was 3500. Random replacements i've probably done 2000. Aftermarket, probably 1000-1500 bucks.
I've never had such a sour deal on a car. It looked great, then I had to throw in near 6 thousand dollars. Sad thing is I'd do it all again, its a fanominal car, I don't want to drive anything else.

I bought the car at $2700 a couple months ago. I've put some suspension work into it an d have some other projects that are in the making. $600 spent so far on rear axle, lowwer control arm, ball joints, front control arms, tie rods, new rotors, and regular maintence work, oil, filter, air filter, spark plugs, distributor. The next thing to buy are tires anyone got any reccomendations?
$2k for the car so far. Plunking down $900 on paint and body next month, and $315 on a tune up next week. From there, full suspension upgrade, brakes, wheels/tires and misc. cosmetic. I'm looking forward to it though. Been a while since I've had a car to baby.
