alright Im looking into getting a bimmer for the body of the car not the age of the engine. it has 289,000 miles on it and the body is in excellent condition. My plan is to put the new engine that I have in my garage (rebuilt) in it but im not sure when. is it alright to drive the car for a while and wait a bit or should the swap be done immediatly

Why not use the engine while it still runs good, i mean.. from my point of view it has already reached the point of 290k miles, and if the engine is still running keep it running

what is the longest anyone has heard of them going?
this car has been taken care of. to the point that everything has been done at the bmw service dealer even oil changes every 3k miles it has been taken care of. From that information how long could anyone estimate its life?
