why would any BMW lover say such a thing?,if a rusty floor pan needing some work justifies scrapping a car,,then dam newer cars would be the only thing on the road,,its not like that 1 sube frame leg holds the whole car together,,,weld the sub frame back up,,,cut out the thin rusty sheet metal around it,,weld in a floor pan patch.and problem solved
o and by the way..today a stone chipped the windsheild on my 72 hemi cuda,,so im just gunna send it to the crushers tomorow

Reason I say that is because it's a 82 320iA and he really should have done a through pre buy on before purchasing it.
I know it was hash but the floor pan is definately NLA and I doubt very much if Mobile traditions will make one for him. E21's are probably the most unloved BMW that was sold stateside. Underpowered for the most part prone to rusting and had the godawful bumpers.
If it was a Baur 323i or a 323i I would say spend some time and fix it up but.... It's rusty. Find a clean E21 if you like that chassis if not start looking as it will never be consider a classic in comparison to say the imaginary Hemi Cuda.
Apples and Oranges there. Granted both cars but production numbers dictate otherwise.
So take my advice with a grain of salt.
I also note the dent at the begining of the floor pan where the wheel well ends. That area has alot of rust. Looks like the water gets in to the inside via the rot hole.
yah just welding that section back up isn't the best way to go about that, the rust will still spread....if you wanted to spend the money to put a whole new sheet of metal in there then you might not mind looking into another similar car
just my 2 cents anyways
