Can anyone point me to a site that sells them for an 88 e30. Also how do you know if you have ellipsoid headlights, I keep seeing that you have to have ellipsoids in order to get the HIDs or at least for the kits they sale.

yes you have to have ellipsoid headlights. however 88's should have the US Ellipsoids which would support 9006 HID low beam conversions or 9005 High beam. you can also get euro ellipsoids which have H1 low and high beam bulbs and better light projection, but would run around $400. its very easy to tell if you have US ellipsoids, if you have a projector or globe type thing in the middle of your low beams then they are ellips.
