| help & tips are appreciated Guys & Gals - I'm a newbies to this forum. I just had my hand on 91 E30 Mtech Cabrio, (auto - yike!), and plan to do a S50 conversion and an auto to 5sp swap. I have read much on the swap but still unsure about a few things, currently this is what I have:
1. S50 engine complete with wiring & ECU (will bypass EWS with chip or mods), with 5sp tranny, along with shifting mechanism. I have the whole car but not sure what part I can use before disposed the e36 shell (currently missing: differential, exhaust, drive shaft). Question: can I use the clutch pedal mechanism from the e36 since my 30 is an auto, master cylinder, for the manual 5sp swap? If the e36 clutch pedal mechanism won't work, if I was to use from e30 will it work with s50 tranny?
2. What differential or driveshaft combo that I will need for this set up? (I can get a Z3 differential but not sure what drive shaft will fit?) Can I use my current differential from the e30 auto? I have read that one may able to use the e36 driveshaft with other differential? which one?
3. Can I use any of the e36 suspension over to the e30?
Other part that I have: complete M50 engine that I will use the oilpan, dipstick, oil pick up and E34 throttle cable.
I know this is a HUGE project, but the E30 has always been my favorite once I left my e30 M3 go due to family needs.
Thanks a bunch to all of you guys/gals fan of the E30!!! |
