Hi there

I own a 1988 18i e30 i've only had the car for a few weeks it starts ok but i've got an intermittent problem while going along the engine will cut out for no apparent reason most times it will start right back up but on the odd occasion it will take a few mins before starting it doesn't happen everyday maybe once every other day.I've changed plugs dis cap leads all normal things but it still does it i've got a receipt of the last owner for a new fuel pump so guess that's ok. any advice you could give me before i start the expense of changing one thing at a time would be most gratefully received .

check fuel pressure and ignition coil.
