i have a 1987 automatic bmw 325i and latly my car has been making sounds when I turn the wheel. i have put fluid back in it and it solves the problem for a day or so. i took it to an auto zone and a guy said there that i have water inside it. i just figured that i had a leak and that i'll fix it when i get back home. i'm just wondering if there has been any recalls or any way i can fix this problem w/o buying a whole new pwer steering system?

Whenever the fluid gets low the system will make a noise and let u know. You have 2 options. 1 keep refilling the container 2 find the leak and fix it.

no idea i had that problem myself and the pump was caivitating and draining all the fluid so i went to the wrecker and got a new one it wasn't that expensive and it fixed all the problems.

i too had that problem, the local BMW dealer suggested i spend $1200 to replace the entire steering column, but my local mechanic just found a broken hose, replaced it, drained and refilled the steering pump, and the steering is smooth as slik
by the way i have a '89 325i, basically same car
