heater core

i put my heater core back in today. i have a 1991 e30 320i. Two questions..

in this diagram does pipe 1 go to the back of the block by the fire wall and pipe 2 go to the front of the block by the bleeder screw, could someone please look under their bonnet and check?

Also since i put the heater back in i have a weird heater valve problem. with the blower on cold the valve doesnt make any clicking noises. On hot at idle it doesnt make any clicking noises but when the blower is set to hot and the rpms of the engine are raised the valve goes click click click click ????

I assume you are thinking you hooked up the hoses wrong.......

? Did you get to bleed the system yet? Heater on high while you are bleeding it.

Ok......I found this pic on a Bavarian Autosport link & the lower hose seems to make right to the engine block & the upper seems to travel straight on.....
probably towards the bleeder?
