so you're one of those people i get annoyed about who drives around with foglights on on clear days?

if you are, answer a question for me: why?
They are designed to light up a small area of road in front of the car and the banks close to the car for driving in thick fog when main lights are too high and shine on the fog. what benefit can they possibly have when doing more than 20mph? if they illuminate anything you're going to run it over at that distance!
BTW I have euro lights i assume; im in the UK. might be able to answer wiring queries.
Edit:
Also, in the uk you'll fail your MoT if your foglights dont have a international-standard foglight symbol illuminated on the dash when they're on
Theres also specific coverage of main beams, which must have their own symbol... and can't have foglights on the same switch.
you could turn your foglights on after your turn on your main beams legeally only if the visibility is under 100 yards - you can't use foglights at all if this isnt met, although you'll only get a warning from the traffic police for this. unless you do it a lot.
anyway, summary of the edit: check the laws in your state/country, you might make your car legally unroadworthy.
