Has anyone done the head gasket replacement job? And if so, What am I in for? The book seems to imply it's a simple task.

1984 325e
1986 325 4 door

nzer is an unknown quantity at this point
started doing it, but then got a shop to finish it off. Was very expensive 1300 new zealand dollars.

It is a reasonably complex task.
