I want to get my head checked for warpage. Do I have to remove the cam and the valves and such before I take it to a machine shop or can they work around that?

you should be able to just take it in in one piece, thats what i did with my old feiro head

I have always checked my own. A straight edge and a feeler gage does the trick. Very simple and straight forward.
