has anyone dropped an eta motor into a 325is chassis?
I've dropped an '84 325e motor into a 1988 325is chassis. I got the engine to run but the idle is high and fluctuates between a grand and 12 13 hundred rmps, runs very rich (considerable amount of gasoline in my engine oil) and it diesels for another second or two after i shut the engine off.
Engine purred like a kitten in the original car. I regasketed everything on the engine (head gasket too)and smoked it with a smoke machine - no vacuum leaks. I also lapped the valves. I've checked for good grounds - everything looks fine. I doubt anything went wrong with the computer, wiring harness, sensors etc.
I really don't know what else to try. Can anybody help?
