I have both, single tool works fine( just resets the lights) and the interface is the one to have, full diagnostics, live, reset lights, reset adaptations, reset airbag light etc etc.
With the interface you will also need a laptop with the correct port at the rear although you can use it with the USB lead he has advertised, but these can be a bit temperamental, also you will need the software Carsoft 6.5 which I have a download of if you need it.
If you need the software please PM me and I will send you a link.

For resets, I get by with a paper clip across 7 and 19 on the diagnostic connector.
On the interface model, the postage (AU $1990) -- typing error?
Chaps I got an E30 320i, so not so fussed about an airbag light.
Um I read on Bimmer DIY that my car has its own diagnostics by pumping accelerator 4 times or similar so do that mean i can get away with first link (assuming the postage cost isnt 2k!) and just do self diagnostics..see link
So im going to stick with the first one Marti 5 unless you or any others have and rejections. Perhaps later on ill get the other system and give your doorbell a ring
As for romeomike unfortunatley im not the studious stationary type and if I was I dont know if it risk backyard sparky jobs...electricity dont like me :S
just make 6 inch jumper between 7 and 19 (I believe) and turn the ignition switch without actually starting the engine and wait for the service light to turn off. turn the ignition off and there it is. it's free that way...good luck
