Hard-top to soft-top conversion info required

Hi

I have a 1989 E30 BMW that I have owned from new. It has been dry storedfor the last two years, and I am now looking to do something different with it. I am basically looking for information on any companies that either convert, or provide kits to convert, a hard-top E30 to a soft-top.

Ideally in the UK for kits, but nor essential, however wiykd be essential if they were to do it.

All information gloadly received.

Not an expert but being a car guy and owning three other convertibles in the past...

Just buy one, a factory convertible that is. i think you underesitmate the labor, time and $$$ involved to make the conversion (and there is a chance it would not look that good in the end anyways).

usually everything is different in conbrioles... stiffer frames/bodys (the roof in a hard top provides ridigity the 'vert lacks), diff windows, fenders, usually the windshileld is diffrent (lower), etc... imho, NOT work it.

UNLESS you are an experienced and accomplished mechanic, welder, and metal fabricator. Don't even think about it. Or there will be another BMW in the junk yard. Believe me I have seen it all.

The only way I would bother making a convertable is if The model I like wasn't available. For example a couple guys did it when I was into fiero's with nice results. You can buy an e30 convertable so I wouldn't even consider wasting the time or expense...
