Hello all, got a bit of a problem...
My 86 325e has always been a bit hard to start, but this morning, it would NOT start. It cranks and cranks but it won't catch. Under the hood there was a small leak of fuel from the fuel line into the Cold Start Injector on the intake manifold. I tightened the hose connection, and cleaned the connector and dried it, but no success. Do I need to replace the whole CSI? Ideas? Suggestions?

Any petrol engine only needs 3 things to run spark, fuel and compression, check these and one will be missing.
If you need help testing these send me a personal message through the site and I’ll do a step-by-step

Compression is good, Fire is good, the only thing I haven't verified is fuel delivery. What method would you recommend to check that? Should I disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail and shoot it into a jar while I turn the key to the on position? Or is there another option to verify fuel delivery? I saw a Cold Start Injector test procedure in my service manual, but haven't had time to do it, do you think that could be the problem? Or do you think it is more likely a fuel pump problem?
Thanks for the response! I was starting to think I was being ignored!

Yes check the fuel as you say the only other way is with a pressure gauge in line, it could well be a fuel pump fault. But if you have pressure and still have dry plug then the injectors may not be working on cranking listen to the injector they should tick (use a screwdriver to listen if you’re unsure)
