0.30mm warm, 0.25mm cold, although BMW doesn't recomend warm valve adjustment and I have to agree, it just plain sucks.

Hello,

Bimmer Doc here in San diego said to go 28mm I think.
I think it was cold, not sure.
A bit looser than spec?

Bavauto sells the tool, which is nice But
you can use a small allen wrench to do the adjust.

i just replaced the whole motor so Ive got another 800 miles to go for the break in before I adjust them for the first time.

I did mine to a tight .25mm. cold. Runs great and quiet. Somthing I learned was you should be able to adjust 6 valves that are completely closed rotate cam 180 deg. and adjust the other 6 valves instead of rotating motor several times as instructed in many diy posts ive read. Just my 2 cents.
