its not backfiring its called launch control, it randomly cuts fuel and spark to keep the RPMs at a specific place for launching, then when the clutch is engaged it stops...
not that impressed i have seen many better turbo E30s, such as Limmit, the Euro S50B32 swapped massive turbo'd E30
Yeah, that's called a backfire. And it's backfiring while going at speed. And while it was already burning out. Backfire. Obviously in need of tuning including all the black smoke coming fronm the exhaust.

Really, look at the car toward the end. Tell me that isn't a backfire as he's spinning out....
And he is backfiring after he goes by a couple times. And not your average off throttle backfire.

Cool looking, it seems someone has more money than sense though. It is running WAY too rich, that kind of black smoke is not right. Maybe from a diesel.... You can hear the rev limiter topping out all through the clip, he is over fueling like crazy you can tell from the cutting out it does at lower rpms. And I'm sorry, it did backfire rather harshly in the beginning of the clip.

The car needs some tuning is all I'm saying. Back fire or not. It still looks way faster than my car....
From the onboard part of the vid the car sounded fine. They may have set it up to run a little rich, thats why there is so much smoke. But running rich is playing it safe, its how I'd set the car up for regular use.
