glove box doesnt open

when i bought the car it didnt open i figure i could figure out something, but i tried the ignition key didnt unlock it took the handle off thinking i could pop it open and that didnt work do you think if i buy a replacement handle with the lock i will be able to unlock and open it?

Most likely, the bottom parts are broken and it's hanging on the lock. If it's not locked, a hard upward pull will open it. But the fun part is that the whole thing will fall down to the back up straps almost to the floor. My E30 has been like that since I got it

^^^ that's if the hinge is busted...I think his problem is that it's locked and he doesn't have the key...

You could try drilling out the lock?

I really don't think the key that comes with the replacement latch will work for the old lock.

i think it is locked and i looked at it and the latch is broken, but is i buy a new lockable one i could use the new latch and key to unlock right?

If no key can unlock it, I guess you still need to remove the old lock and latch by another method.
