Greeting from the New Guy. I have the same issues with my 87 325ic , (119 K) buzzing main pump. Even though the car runs fine, I agree that is annoying as heck. I have read on the forums that a faulty transfer pump will cause this , along with and/or a failing main pump. Is there a surefire way to determine which factor is causing this Buzzing noise from the HP pump ??
Thanks for your time in this matter. Looking forward to learning a lot & helping with what I can.

This is most definitely not a healthy, normal noise.
I don't notice any problems with fuel delivery, but I'm sure it isn't supposed to be buzzing like it is.
