Hi,
I was getting a 1222 code.
Checked for vacuum leaks etc... (in fact I took the intake off yesterday to check and clean everything).
Things evolved to the point were the motor would run for 10 seconds then stop.
Was the same after the work (...pleasure of course...) I did yesterday.
Well, I just went outside, took the gas cap off and started the car. It ran for 2 or 3 minutes before missing a beat!
Major development! In fact it just misses once in a while. I have the impression I could go for a drive!
Now many things come to mind (gas tank vents, fuel pressure, pumps etc...).
What do I do next?
This code is stored when the DME detects excessive
deviations in the air-fuel mixture (too rich or too lean) for longer
than 10 seconds.
Possible causes:
1)Fuel tank low/empty, clogged fuel filter giving you incorrect Fuel Pressure,
or you have a failing fuel pump
2)Injector valve defective or coked,
3)Engine Temperature Sensor defective,
4)Secondary air leak,
5)Fuel evaporation control system defective,
6)Air Flow Meter defective; and/or
7)Combustion is being disturbed by mechanical failure (Spark plugs, compression, intake/exhaust valves, ...etc.)
I suggest u look at #1 first; then #7 next.
Good Luck

Thanks, I've been through the literature...
I've been looking for vacuum leeks and stuff in fact, that's why I took the intake off. You know, to check the injectors, gaskets etc...
As I said, I took the gas cap off (you know, the cap you take off to put fuel in the tank) and the motor ran much better. This is why I am directing my attention there.
So if I know that my problem is about fuel supply, where do I start trouble shooting?
fuel filter first. If clean, then have your fuel pressure checked. You need at least 43 psi to keep ur engine running.
*check also the fuel pressure regulator at the end of the injection rail. oftentimes, the vacuum hose pops out, and it wont regulate the way it should.
Good Luck
