Fuel Leak 1990 325ic

Daughter and son-in-laws car and today I noticed a fule leak (under pressure) that was coming from just in front of the left rear wheel (driver's side). Where should I anticipate finding the leak?

Found it. Leak is just at or forward of the fuel filter. Need to get her up on ramps and go under.

You might as well change the fuel filter while it's up there, cheap part (I paid $15 at carquest and it was in stock) and not hard to replace. I didn't even have to lift the car to do it.

Make sure you "de pressurize" the system prior to removing the filter. Two ways to do this, remove the gas cap, or with the car running pull the fuse for the fuel pump. I usually just remove the gas cap and only have about 1/4 cup of fuel or less spill out.

Thanks for all of the responses. I found a crack in fuel line upstream from the filter, replaced the line and filter as well and she runs great.
