fuel filter

I want to change the fuel filter as i have no idea how long it has been in their.
I found the one in the engine bay next to the brake fluid tank. However is there two because i also found this under the car by the left rear wheel. What is it..

Quite easy to find all you have to do is key in the part number off the pipe in to RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog that's all you need to do to find what things are, just find the part number or a part number of something that's fixed to the part your trying to identify.

all the information i find about replaceing the fuel filter says it is eaither located in engine bay or by rear wheel. I am guessing one is a main filter and one is a secondry or something. Should i replace both? car is at 120 thou k's and i have no idea when either were last changed.

ahh i have done some researching and it looks like i only have one fuel filter.
The thing in the engine bay i was looking at is called a charcoal canister

what you got under rear wheel is also fuel filter, over the filter maybe fuel transfer pump too,
i found replacing this filters is waste of time since i always open them and never seen one dirty
