SO GAY. My dad says that when i go to college, im going to have to get a different car, because my car isnt going to be reliable enough, which is true, because its an E30, and it does have problems, so things will need to be fixed, and i know i wont have the time. Plus, i dont really want to put 100,000 miles on it commuting 50 miles from home to there every weekend or so when i want food and laundry.
So what has to be done:
find a car to lease for 300$ or less a month. And it cant have any crazy performance, which is lame, cuz insurance is a bitch when your not even 18 yet, and when you turn 18, it doesnt get that much better, maybe 15$ better.
But im pretty pissed, because i fucking love my car, and its gonna be hard as shit to get anything as cool as mine, or even a BMW for a good price, that can be leased..
But if anyone is interested in buying my car for 4500, lemme know in a few months or something, or atleast lemme know now, and i let you know when you can buy it.
and what sucks even more, is i cant just keep it sitting, even if it isnt uninsured, because he wants to sell it to help with the down payment, SO GAY...

major fucking vent. Also, i dont want to have to join some other gay Mazda forum or some shit, cuz i know ill end up withs ome Mazda wagon or something. not dissing them too hard, but i mean, id totally rather have my car, cuz the power, the handling, the seats, the paint, thebody, the community of E30's and BMW's, is something you CANT find for another car(stfu, i know Golf's).
but E30's, are...so..fucking...TIGHT, and its gonna blow balls when i have to watch some asshat drive it away from my house....

doooood that fucking BLOWS... slvr 10-15k is alot of fuckign money..
i say tell him you dont want to sell it, ask him if you can wait till the end of the summer and see if you have enough money to buy a low(er) mileage e36 mayb with cosmetic issues or something like that for around 4-5k. youd have to work your ass off over the summer to do it though..
dont sell it dude.. you'll regret it forever
edit: hell dude jsut buy a fucking honda civic and beat the living shit out of it..
welll, i was thinking already of getting a newer car, but if we got something newer, we would have to finance it, and you cant really finance a car from someone who is just selling their car, it would have to be through a dealer, and its hard to find, and they overprice everything, but besides that.
My dad and I have come down to two cars that he wants, and the ones that i thought best out of the bunch that i could find for good prices.
the Saab 9-2x and the Volvo S40, both have pretty good lines and look pretty good i think, and have a pretty good amount of power, and handle well. So hopefully, they go well.

that sucks dan. ive had my car at college for a while now and other than the paint going to hell, the car has been perfectly reliable. however, i really wish i couldve taken a different car up to school. the roads are terrible around the campus which is causing noticeable wear in the ball joints and many scrapes on my airdam from being too low. not to mention all the highway driving from being 200miles home has beat up my foglights and caused many knicks on the hood and front quarter panels. if i had the option to store the e30 and get a car for around $200/month to drive back and forth i would deffinately take it, but thats not an option for me and there's no way i'm going to sell the e30 so its just going to have to rough it for now.

dude don't sell it . i have seen pics of your car and it looks great. i am sure it is mechanically sound too. my 87 325 isn't in as good as shape as yours and i was driving at least 100 miles a day for work. 50 there and 50 back. so what needs to be done to it to make it reliable?
store the e30 and get a car for around $200/month to drive back and forth i would deffinately take it
Thats kinda what i was thinking, but i cant store it, i have to sell it for downpayments and such.
But ive been thinking, and the car that i have chosen that best fits the criteria for which i must settle, is the Saab 9-2x Linear, which actually, isnt too bad of a car if you actually look at it, its got lots of room, good power(meh), and its stick, and seats lots, and AWD, so i can still carve it up a bit in the canyons. and when im out of college, ill definetly get a new car, hopefulyl E30 M3, thats what i really really want.
So hopefully, all goes well. it gets good mileage too, and doesnt look half bad..
But i definetly will miss my car, its got a one-of-a-kind look to me, and im definetly gonna be pissed when some assface drives it away..

so what needs to be done to it to make it reliable?
Well, its pretty good right now(imo), but in my dads, he said that its gonna need some work, especially when ill be commuting every now and then during the month when i come back from college for random things, and i know that it will probably need a new engine eventually, and i dont really have the money to fix it(nor does my dad), plus labor and stuff, and time-wise, i dont hav ea lot of, nor will i have anymore when i am in college, plus a few more things that just take time, something i dont have.
so i amgonna have to part from my E30. So....what i have to say now, is something ive been dreading. If someone wants to buy this car, PM me now(i live in SoCal), and the sale will only go to someone who is willing to drive to my house, or is in the area, because i cant have it shipped or whatnot to someones house.

Seriously, I find it hard to imagine that your parents wouldn't let it sit in front of their house while you're away, especially if you let them drive it whenever they wanted to. I may end up doing the something just like that, since I'm moving to a dorm three hundred miles south where the winters are brutal.
My plan, which I think is worth some of your serious consideration, is buying a Civic DX for three hundred bucks, spending four hundred getting it roadworthy (name a part - eBay has a Civic version for twelve dollars), and coast on it through college. If that's absolutely impossible no matter what, then I'm really sorry. I've always loved your car, and every time I show it to any of my friends, they immediately tell me I should paint mine red.
I'd suggest something Japanese regardless, though. European cars typically aren't models of economy; my mechanic's turbo/intercooled Volvo 740 has 270,000 miles, but the repairs just aren't college student priced.
tell your ol' man that its your car adn your keeping it. And if it does happen to break down you can fix it yourself. plus you dont use your car your first year of college anyway. im surprised you were able to take it actually.
